How to brush your teeth for a healthier and more beautiful smile?

It happens very often that we rush in our day to day and we only think on the thousand things pending to do, so that we forget to dedicate the necessary time to small but necessary routines as for example brushing our teeth.

We should consider that we can reduce the time spent on this task simply by choosing and using a good toothpaste and a quality toothbrush that suits perfectly our teeth. The hardness of the bristles is very important and it will affect our brushing, in Brushboo for example the brushes are made with medium hardness that are perfect for healthy teeth and gums. A softer hardness is used for dentures with sensitive gums. It is also correct to say that this activity should be done several times a day so that we can show a nice and healthy smile: when we wake up, after every meal and before bedtime.

The brushing time recommended to reach all areas is between 2 and 3 minutes and if for any reason we cannot brush after each meal, it will be important that we do not forget to do it every morning and every night. In addition, it never hurts to take a sugar-free gum in those moments that we cannot brush our teeth, as chewing stimulates the production of saliva, which helps removing food remains, reducing the levels of acids that causes Cavities in the mouth and improving the strengthening if the teeth.

Some steps to make the brushing more complete so we can show both healthier teeth and gums are the following:

  1. To hold the brush as if you were holding a pen so you can avoid exerting too much pressure. We tend to do it with the fist and this technique can damage our gums.
  2. To thoroughly clean the front of the teeth: Combine circular movements with horizontal movements from left to right (also called the rubbing method).
  3. To clean the back of the teeth: Make vertical movements from the bottom up with the handle pointing at the ceiling.
  4. To brush the gums: The denture is not only composed by the teeth, gums are also a fundamental part where we accumulate many bacteria. It is essential to brush them by making vertical movements always in the direction of the teeth, both in the front of the denture and in the back. In the upper jaw of the mouth, we will make movements from top to bottom, and in the lower jaw, we will do it on the opposite direction. In the case the gums bleed, consider going to your dentist so that bleeding can be corrected and do not result in major diseases such as gingivitis or periodontitis.

Good news! These tricks are great to have a more beautiful and healthier smile, but they also help us maintaining a fresh breath preventing bad oral odors.
